  Dracula
Dracula  Published in 1897, Bram Stoker's legendary novel Dracula was written, with the working title The Un-Dead, while the Irish author lived in Whitby, England. Preceded by works such as Le Fanu's Carmilla and Polidori's The Vampyre, Dracula was not the first vampire novel, but it is now the most widely-acknowledged work of vampire fiction. Depicting a scene from the novel, but with a look based on classic black and white horror movies, this shirt shows a half beast Count Dracula, after having escaped, in the form of a large wolf, from the shipwrecked Demeter. With ruined Whitby Abbey in the background, lit by the full moon between the clouds, Dracula feeds on Lucy as her friend Mina rushes to her aid, interrupting the vampire. To the left is the crucifix-bound ship's wheel of the Demeter and a wolf head. On the right is an illustration of Castle Dracula (based on Poenari fort in Wallachia) and three bats (perhaps the brides of Dracula?). Below is a quote from the novel: I called in fright, 'Lucy! Lucy!' and something raised a head, and from where I was I could see a white face and red, gleaming eyes.
